Before & After
Case Details
This young lady wanted to have gel implants to enhance the size of her breasts. Because she did not have a lot of native breast tissue, a dual plane position was chosen in her case. This technique lifts the edge of the pectorals muscle and creates a pocket under the muscle, which is then divided along the sternum allowing it to reflect upward so that the implant can settle under the breast in the lower portion. This allows the pectorals muscle too cover the top of the implant so that the edge will be obscured and there is less likelihood of seeing the ripples and imperfections in the device. Dividing the muscle and having the implant in the dual plane minimizes the risk of "animation" which is a phenomenon in which the implant moves and is pushed inferiolaterally when the pectorals muscle is activated (such as when working out in the gym or doing strenuous activity with the chest muscles.)
350 cc gel implants in the dual plane.
