While diet and exercise are helpful tools in the fight against excess body fat, sometimes they just aren’t enough. The lipoplasty procedure can go the extra mile, removing fat cells directly to reduce regions of the body in volume.
During lipoplasty, small incisions are created in the areas targeted for fat removal. These incisions allow access for a small tool known as a cannula. This tool is used to first loosen and break up stubborn fat cells and then remove them using medical suction. This suction also removes the tumescent fluid injected at the start of the procedure.
