Will a Liquid Facelift With BOTOX® and Dermal Fillers Make You Look Younger?

What is it about your face that makes you look old? It can be hard to pinpoint. If you look at a photograph of yourself today and compare it with a photograph of yourself five years ago, you may only see subtle differences. However, if you compare yourself with a photo from 10 years ago, the differences may be more pronounced.

What Happens to Your Skin as You Age?

So what has changed in the past 10 years? Do you have more wrinkles? Are you experiencing a loss of volume in your face? Do your lips seem thinner than they were before? Is your skin sagging? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, it is also probably true that on the inside you feel like you’re 20 years old, but on the outside, your body is telling another story.

This is because as you get older, your skin loses elasticity and volume. As a result, you develop that hollow, gaunt appearance and start to see wrinkles. You may be to the point where you feel you need to do something to counteract the aging effect. However, you might not be to the point where you’re ready for facelift surgery. The answer could be combining BOTOX and dermal fillers to give you a refreshed, youthful appearance.

What Is a Liquid Facelift?

This combination of dermal fillers and BOTOX is such a powerhouse pairing that it’s often called a liquid facelift. So what makes a combination of BOTOX and dermal fillers so potent? Well, the answer lies in what both of these treatments do.

BOTOX

BOTOX is an amazing product that blocks the signal from the nerves to your muscles. As a result, when you make facial expressions, the movement of your muscles underneath your skin does not create dynamic wrinkles. BOTOX is designed to work on the forehead, around the eyes and around the sides of the mouth. It can only help to minimize the appearance of wrinkles that are caused by the movement of muscle underneath your skin. It cannot do anything to treat static wrinkles. Dermal Fillers

Static wrinkles are the wrinkles that you have on your face regardless of what your facial expression is. These can be treated by dermal fillers. One of the reasons your face is wrinkling is because you lost facial volume and now your skin is just kind of hanging there. When you inject a dermal filler into the treated area, it immediately adds volume, thereby filling your skin and making it look smoother.

Dermal fillers can also be injected into your lips to make them fuller. One of the nice things about the majority of dermal fillers on the market is that they are made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid does powerful things to your face. First, by simply injecting it into your face, it adds volume to your skin. Second, since hyaluronic acid attracts water, it continues to give you a full appearance for months after the initial treatment.

The Power of a Liquid Facelift

BOTOX and dermal fillers work hand-in-hand since each treats a problem that the other cannot address. In most cases, BOTOX and dermal fillers can work together to create a nonsurgical facelift that can give you an appearance you will be proud of.
